CRUSH festival is a food and wine festival held in the Adelaide Hills at the start of each year. It is a combination of fine wines, good food, and amazing music made to bring people together to explore some retailers around Stirling.
The brief was to design a poster for CRUSH 2022 and a 2D and 3D promotional material that would be consistent with the poster and be on theme with the event.

I wanted the poster to be appealing and to represent visually what the event was about. I liked that the name of the festival was short so I decided to create a grid where each square was a letter and they would be formed by elements such as cheese, wine, fruit, and other things that are involved or related to a wine festival. I wanted the letters to be subtle but bold so made them very simple ad because the illustrations formed them it wasn't very obvious. I then had a square left where I put all of the relevant festival information with simple typography to contrast against the illustration's complexity and to make it easy to read.
For the colour scheme, I decided to use purple, red, and green as the main colours, and a ream beige for contrast for small elements and type. Purple represents the grapes, red represents red wine and green represents grape vines.
Overall the poster is well-balanced, it is very graphic-heavy but it is balanced by the minimal use of text and the simplicity of the typeface. The colours are coherent and there is some nice contrast between the purples and reds with the greens and beige.

For the 2D element, I decided to design a picnic mat. This would be the perfect promotional material because It is on theme with wine and outdoors festival, and it would have the same elements as the poster such as the grid layout and the wine illustration.

For the 3D element, I designed a two-bottle wine carrier. This way people that attend the festival and want to buy some wine can easily carry at least two bottles. The carrier has some elements from the poster such as the mountains and wine bottle and plants and it also has the grid but this time I decided to tilt it so it would wrap around the carrier nicely and create an interesting composition.

I was lucky enough to be a finalist in the AGDA 2022 awards for Student Print/Posters.
